FARMINGTON – Burton D. Gilman, 64, of Vienna, died of cancer, Dec. 13, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, with his family at his side.
He was born April 30, 1942, in Mount Vernon, a son of Jonathan Nelson and Annette (Weston) Gilman.
In 1963, he married Barbara Clark. Known as the “handyman of Vienna,” he was active in the historical society, Mill Stream Grange, Kennebec Pomona and supported the artistic talents of his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Vienna; their children, two sons, Jonathan, and his wife, Sherene, of Mount Vernon and Brian of South Portland; a daughter, Bonnie Parlin, and her husband, Jerry, of Farmington; two sisters, Eileen Lord, and her husband, Joseph “Joe,” of Vienna and Lorraine Tukey, and her husband, Daniel, of North Belgrade; an aunt, Rachel Weston Bourque, and her husband, Henry, of China; and two grandchildren, Conrad and Courtney of Mount Vernon.
