SOUTH PARIS – Scott Arne Turner, 42, of South Paris died Thursday, Dec. 14, at his home, with his family after a year long battle with cancer.

He was born in Norway on Nov. 17, 1964, the son of Cameron Albert Turner and Janet Lahti Truman. He was raised in the Oxford Hills area and was residing in South Paris with his wife, Denise, and their two daughters, Amy and Jessica.

He was a graduate of Oxford Hills High School in 1983. He also received a year of private tutoring from a master chef and embarked on a working tour for several years in some of the finest restaurants and country clubs in the nation.

He then spent four years with the Marriott Hotels. Being tired of city life, he returned to the Oxford Hills to open a restaurant of his own in Waterford called “T’s Place.” He married Denise Bouchard on Oct. 14, 1995. He eventually entered a whole new career of cross country trucking for North America Van Lines. He and his wife, Denise, founded and operated for several years D & S Transport Inc. out of South Paris which was sold in 2003.

In the past four years, he has focused solely on his real estate career, becoming a realtor and a broker for Truman Properties. He was also a member of the Truman Properties Multimillion Dollar Club and held the title of assistant to the president.

He was a great athlete while growing up and at Oxford Hills High School he played football and baseball, excelling in both. In football, he played both sides of the ball for Oxford Hills and in baseball was known for hitting home runs. He had a great passion for car racing. In the early 90s, he drove No. 81 in the strictly stock division at Oxford Plains Speedway for a few years. It was something he had always wanted to do in his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Denise and his two daughters, Amy and Jessica, all of South Paris; his mother and stepfather, Janet and Chuck Truman of Waterford; his brother, Greg, and his wife, Sara Turner with their children, Chelsea, Kayla and Noah, all of Waterford; his “Nana,” Agnes Lahti, of Waterford; mother-in-law, Suzanne Bouchard, and her companion, Rick Kearley, of Norway; aunt and uncle, Arnold and Rose Turner of Norway; two aunts, Linda Blackwell of South Carolina and Patricia Hill of Sweden; stepmother, Maureen Turner of North Norway; stepsister, Sherrilyn Page, and husband, Stephan, with their children, Halie and Kalvin; two stepbrothers, Sean Truman of Greene and Mark Truman of Brunswick; and along with several cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Cameron Albert Turner.
