LISBON – Nancy V. Law, 62, of the Ridge Road, lost her battle with breast cancer on Friday, Dec. 15, surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 29, 1944, in Lewiston, the daughter of Carl and Alice (Stevens) Jewell.

She was raised in Wales and was a graduate of Lewiston High School.

She married Robert L. Law in 1961, and together they raised three children.

She was the matriarch of the family business, Laws Nursery and Garden Center, and was well known for the beautiful flowers she raised in her greenhouses.

She was active in the construction aspect of the business and was a past member of the Associated General Contractors, Maine Better Transportation Association and the National Association of Women in Construction.

She enjoyed vacationing in her camper with her husband. Her most special times were spent just being with her grandchildren. She had a very special and unique relationship with each one of them.

She also loved to read books and fuss with her flowers in her garden.

She is survived by her husband of Lisbon; her mother, Alice Wilbur of Portland; a son, William B. Law and his wife, Elaine, of Lisbon; a daughter, Kelly A. Humphrey, her husband, Mark, and her daughter, Debra S. Law, of Lewiston; six grandchildren, Kara Law, Adam Lord, Emily Law, Kathryn “Katie” Law, Joshua Law, and Amy Law; great-grandchildren, Cayden Billings and Haley Lord; siblings, Harold “Butch” Jewell and his wife, Jackie, Beverly Caron and her husband, Bob, and Timothy Jewell and his wife, Claire; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong best friend, Cheryl Stewart of Wales.

Nancy was predeceased by her father; and her brother, Harry.
