AUBURN – Rita M. St. Pierre, 79, formerly of Edward Avenue, Lewiston, died Saturday morning at Clover Manor.

She was born in Lewiston on Nov. 21, 1927, a daughter of Romuald and Regina Goulet Michaud.

She attended Lewiston schools and later married E. Philip St. Pierre on Feb. 23, 1946.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and sang in the church choir for Father Burns. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting and crosswords.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years; children, Gerard P. St. Pierre of Sabattus, Paul R. St. Pierre and his wife, Nancy, of Lewiston, Philip St. Pierre and his wife, Nancy, of Lewiston, Gloria Vallieres and her husband, Richard, of Greene, and Irene Pelletier and her husband, Bertrand, of Lewiston; brothers, Romeo and Gilbert Michaud of Denver, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Russell; and a brother, Jeffrey Michaud.
