This is my response to the elitists who live in Rumford. If they would read the town charter, they would realize that it is a well-written document that serves the town as the Constitution serves the nation.
Did the selectmen schedule a special election on Dec. 5 in an attempt to do away with one of the charter’s checks and balances – to wit, the finance board appointing the town auditor?
A prior board of selectmen took it upon themselves to violate the town charter. Three members of the present board are still trying to defend that misdeed. Why? Are egos involved?
It is a sad day when the Sun Journal, through editorials and the Valley Voices column, berates the voters of Rumford.
