Now that the Democrats have taken over the U.S. Congress, they have the chance to tell the Pentagon how to run the war in Iraq. My opinion is that the war should have been fought on the ground. We should not have bombed the cities and killed the innocent people. Every time an innocent person gets killed, that gives the terrorists more ammunition to fight against us.
The Iraqis did not have planes or tanks; all they had were rifles and roadside bombs. We had the best troops in the world to fight the terrorists, but had the poorest leaders. I believe the Iraqi civilians would have liked to get rid of the terrorists as much as we did. Now there are terrorists all over the world and it is going to be a lot harder.
We should stop the bombing and give the oil fields back to the Iraqi people. Let them build up their own country.
Then we can put money into our own pockets and feed the needy at home.
