MDA nominations
WESTBROOK – The Muscular Dystrophy Association is seeking nominations for its Robert Ross Personal Achievement Awards. The awards, now in the 16th year, are given on local, state and national levels to recognize the accomplishments and community service of people with disabilities caused by neuromuscular diseases.
Nomination forms are available from the local MDA office and must be submitted by Jan. 22, 2007. Nominations may be made by individuals or organizations; all nominees must be affected by one of the neuromuscular diseases in MDA’s program and be registered with the association.
Each MDA chapter chooses a local award recipient. He or she is automatically considered for a statewide award, and a national recipient is selected from among the state recipients. The national personal achievement award recipient is announced on the national broadcast of the telethon.
Additional information and nomination forms may be obtained from the local office at MDA-Sebago Commons, 39 Mechanic St., Suite 100, Westbrook, ME 04092 or 854-3749.
