AUBURN – A gift from Oxford Networks has provided the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Hospice House with 16-months of high-speed Internet service.

“The AHCH Hospice House provides a vital service to the community,” said Craig Gunderson, president of Oxford Networks. “We are pleased to be a part of their growth, and the assistance they provide the people of Maine.”

The Hospice House, located on Stetson Road, opened in November last year. More than 300 patients received care at the facility in its first year of operation. The Hospice House offers specialized care for individuals at the end of life.

“The community rallied around this project from the beginning,” said Julie Shackley, AHCH president/CEO. “The support continues to grow since we opened the doors last year. The gift from Oxford Networks is especially important as we move toward using computer documentation for patient records and faster networking between our providers in the field and at the Hospice House.”

Founded in 1900, Oxford Networks serves a territory from Bangor through Portsmouth, N.H., with a high-speed fiber optic network. Oxford Networks can be contacted at 1-800-520-9911 or online at www.oxfordnetworks.com.
