FARMINGTON – Stanley C. Robbins, 92, of Farmington, died Saturday evening, Dec. 16, at his home on Dunham Road.

He was born Sept. 17, 1914, in New Vineyard, the son of Ernest and Mildred (Rackliff) Robbins. He attended local schools.

On Aug. 30, 1936, he married Vivian Perkins. She died on Apr. 11, 1986.

He worked his entire life in the woods lumbering with horses. He loved horse pulling and won countless ribbons at county fairs with his pulling teams. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting in his later years. He was a lifetime member of the Masons.

He is survived by his companion of the last 16 years, Barbara Dunham of Farmington; two sons, Vernon Hall and his wife, Brenda, of Jay, and Charles Hall and his wife, Judith, of Brownville; a daughter, Lenora Tilton and her husband, Raymond, of Wilton; a sister, May Morton of Fla.; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; Barbara’s children, Kevin Dunham and his wife, Linda, of Farmington, Terry Dunham and his wife, Valerie, of Farmington, Judy Wilder and her husband, John, of Farmington, Sheila Maxim and her husband, George, of Farmington, Karen James and her husband, Robert, of Strong, and Trudy Nutting and her husband, David, of Industry; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Alfred, Kenneth, William and Robert Robbins; four sisters, Ethel Ray, Evelyn Ridley, Winola Hastings and Leanese McAllister.
