MONMOUTH – Monmouth’s jumped out to a 31-15 halftime lead and their defense forced 30 Madison turnovers en-route to a 65-29 victory in boys’ basketball.
Ten different players hit the scoring column for Monmouth, led by Junior Dylan Reny’s game-high 14 points and four steals. Devin Robbins added 11 points and six steals for the Mustangs (1-2). Ryan Carpenter paced Madison (1-3) with six points.
Boothbay 69, Lisbon 26
BOOTHBAY – Owen Johnson and Roy Arsenault each downed 14 points a piece as Boothbay posted a 69-26 win over Lisbon in a boys’ basketball match-up Monday.
Boothbay (3-0) jumped out to a 28-6 lead in the first quarter, with nine points scored by Matt Sceviour, and eight by Johnson, who also had a game-high nine rebounds. Tim Roy led Lisbon with eight points.
Winthrop 77, Telstar 44
BETHEL – Sam LeClair registered a game-high 27 points, all of which came in the first three quarters, as Winthrop beat Telstar 77-44.
Larry Foster and Mike Gingras scored 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Ramblers (4-0) win. Matt Zinchuk scored 10 points, while Ryan Kimball added eight for Telstar (0-4).
Mountain Valley 69, Carrabec 34
RUMFORD – Mountain Valley outscored Carrabec 44-18 in the first half and cruised to a 69-34 victory in a MVC boy’s basketball matchup.
Senior forward Andy Shorey finished with a game-high 26 points and 11 rebounds while Owen Jones chipped in with 14 points for the Falcons (3-0). Jake Goodwin paced the Cobras (0-4) with 12 points.

Lisbon/Oak Hill 1
LEWISTON – The Lewiston Blue Devils scored nine unanswered goals in a dominating 13-1 win over Lisbon/Oak Hill in hocky action Monday evening.
Casey Poussard netted five of those goals, and contributed two assists. Robbie Leeman scored a hat-trick, while Jon Roy had a pair of goals and a pair of assists. Jordan Bourgoin, Ian Doucette, and Brendan Lebrun rounded out the scoring for the Blue Devils (1-3).
The lone goal for Lisbon/Oak Hill was scored unassisted by Kevin Laplante at 3:14 in the second period. Kyle Watson made 60 saves in net for the losing cause.
