WOODSTOCK – After meeting Tuesday with Joyce Roma representing the Maine Conservation School in Bryant Pond, selectmen agreed to support her request for better signs on Route 26 pointing people to the school.

Roma said existing signs are too small and not reflective, making it difficult for people to see them to help locate the entrance road to the grounds.

Selectmen authorized Town Manager Vern Maxfield to sign the sign application to show the town’s support to state.

It was explained to Roma, however, that the school would have to cover the cost of the making of the signs after the state has determined a proper location.

Maxfield told the board he has collected most of the 2006 taxes.

with $226,000 left, which is about the same as previous years.
