WILTON – A Christmas Eve service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the United Methodist Church.
Two services
PHILLIPS – The Phillips Shared Ministry will hold two services on Sunday, Dec.24. The regular Sunday service will begin at 10 a.m. and a Christmas Eve service of carols, scripture and candles will take place at 4 p.m. Both will be held at the Congregational Church. Refreshments and fellowship will follow.
After Christmas, services will continue in the Congregational church through the winter. Those not able to attend church who would like to have communion or a visit from Pastor Susan Kaplan may call her at 491-5353 or Pat Matulaitis at 639-3786.
Movie night
RANGELEY – A Ski Movie Night will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Lakeside Theatre. The double feature will show a Warren Miller ski movies and “American Skier,” produced by Andy Newell, a national Nordic ski champion. All ticket proceeds will benefit the Rangeley Lakes XC Ski Club and the Rangeley Lakes Trails Center. Tickets are $6 at the door.
Seniors meet
LIVERMORE FALLS – The Livermore Falls-Jay Senior Citizens met at Murray Hall on Dec. 11 for the annual Christmas party. The hall was decorated by Chairwoman Shirley Couture and her helpers.
Janice Sweeney catered an Italian buffet meal attended by 48 members. After the meal, they were entertained by 50 third- and fourth-grade students from the Jay Elementary School, who sang carols and other songs. After their performance they were given Christmas treats by Santa Claus.
The 50-50 drawing was won by Alice Demoras and two donated items were won by Elvina Miller and Joe Slovak. The party continued with a “Rip-off” game.
