JAY – A Jay man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of gross sexual assault against a woman on Dec. 7, who was an acquaintance of his, police Chief Larry White Sr. said.

Dale Sibley, 39, of Old Jay Hill Road, posted $250 cash bail shortly after his arrival at the Franklin County jail in Farmington.

Sibley has a court date of Jan. 18 in Franklin County Superior Court in Farmington, White said.

Information came to police attention through a second party and the chief and officer Mike Mejia went and spoke to the victim, White said.

Detective Richard Caton IV continued the investigation with assistance from Franklin County Sheriff’s Detective David St. Laurent, the county sexual assault investigator, White said.
