The Art Club is run by Ms. Kate Cargile. This is her fifth year teaching the art club. She said ” I decided to do the Art Club because there seemed to be a need at LMS for an opportunity for students to create more art.” About 10 students are participating in the Art Club. They meet on Thursdays, after school until 3:15 at LMS. The Art Club works on different projects. So far this year they have made shaped paintings on felt, puppets, and water color paintings illustrating the American Sign Language alphabet.

Ms Cargile also said ” Later this year we hope to visit the Bates College Museum of Art for a field trip.” She also said that the Art Club is hoping to do a community service art project in the Spring.
