AUBURN – Marcel C. Blanchette, 71, of Pierce Street, Lewiston, died Monday, Dec. 18, at The Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice with his wife Jeanne at his side.

He was born in Lewiston, May 25, 1935, the son of the late Raoul and Laura (Albert) Blanchette. He graduated from St. Dominic High School in 1953. He married Jeanne D’Arc Chainey on May 12, 1956. He also went on and joined the U.S Army during the Berlin Crisis and remained in the National Guard for nine years. He worked in local garages for many years until he became a teacher’s aide for 20 years at The Pineland Center. He was also a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

Everyone knew him as “Doc” and for keeping his car clean, having a great sense of humor, his unique wave and going for walks.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jeanne D’Arc of Lewiston; daughters, Gisele Krippner, and husband, Peter, of Washington, Claire Martin, and husband, Steve, of New York, Carmen, and husband, Rodney, of Windham and JoAnn McDonald, and husband, Anthony, of Gray; a son, Paul Blanchette, and wife, Cheryl, of Poland; nine grandchildren, Megan, Michaela and Matthew Martin, Timothy Krippner, Gemma, Ethan, Seth and Aidan Blanchette and Noel Landry.

He was predeceased by his four brothers, Alfred, Robert, Lionel and Raymond Blanchette. We love you Pepere.
