The Tripp seventh grade football team went undefeated this season with a record of 7-0. Head coach Jim Hersom and assistant coach Ed Griffin led the seventh grade Tigers to an undefeated season with three shutout victories. The Tigers shutout the Bath Shipbuilders 20-0, Oak Hill Red Raiders 14-0, and the Winthrop Ramblers 22-0. The Tigers had a very aggressive defense and a hard-nosed offense. With Jordan Hersom at quarterback, Jake Ouellette at halfback, a very good offensive line including Brett Vallee at center, Josh Allaire at right guard, Corey Ledwell at left guard, Tom Hite at right tackle, and Zach Richardson at left tackle, the Tigers offense was powerful as a bulldozer.
The seventh grade football team worked hard every day after school since August 14 to get this record. The defense was a very angry cat pack, they would always swarm to the ball. The defense was unstoppable and mean. The line consisted of Josh Allaire at nose guard, Zach Richardson at left tackle, and Tom Hite at right tackle. The defensive backfield consisted of Jake Ouellette, Jordan Hersom, Brett Vallee, Greg Lake, and Ian Durgin. The team was always together and never fell apart.
In their last game of the season against Brunswick, the team fought their hardest of the season. The final score was 8-6. The Tripp Tigers were winning until Brunswick scored a Touchdown with 2 minutes left in the game, and went for the extra point, but were stopped in the backfield really hard. The Tripp Tigers were fighting out the game the entire time.
