SOUTH PARIS – Ernest A. “Beanie” Bean, 84, of Norway, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Market Square Health Care Center.
He was born Dec. 22, 1921, to George and Clara (Wallace) Bean. He was educated in Waterford schools. On June 25, 1944, he married the former Maxine Clifford.
Beanie had worked for the town of Norway for many years. After his retirement, he worked for Norway Savings Bank as a custodian. He enjoyed camping, traveling in his motor home with his wife, Maxine, enjoyed going to local dances with his wife and snowmobiling. He also enjoyed a good game of cards. He was a member of the Good Sam Campers Association.
He is survived by two daughters, Carol Richardson of Norway and Bette Ann Doroughty of Massachusetts, by a previous marriage; a brother, Harold Bean of Westbrook; sister, Marguerite Alberg of Michigan; three grandchildren, Douglas Richardson of Norway and Pamela Chaplin and Jessica Richardson, both of South Paris; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Douglas Chaplin and Bryce Thomas Chaplin from South Paris.
He was predeceased by his wife, Maxine on March 16, 2005.
