AUBURN – Stephen Roulard recorded a hat trick Wednesday night to lead Leavitt to a 5-1 victory over Maranacook in a hockey matchup.

Tyler Robitaille netted a pair of goals for the mighty Hornets (2-2) to complete the scoring. Cody Violette made 22 saves in net to notch the win.

The Black Bears received their lone goal from Justin Oliver, with assists from Cory Palmer and Ben Giguere. Leavitt jumped out to a 3-1 advantage in the first period and was never challenged.

Poland/G-NG 2, Marshwood 1

HEBRON – Gardner Lajoie tipped in what would prove to be the game-winning goal off a feed from Rich Piper to lift the Poland/Gray-New Gloucester hockey team to a 2-1 win over Marshwood in hockey action Wednesday.

The first Poland/GNG (2-2) goal was scored by Cory Cormier, with an assist by Zach Arnold at 8:30 in the first period. Goaltender Sean Bilodeau had a solid performance in net, making 20 saves for the win.

Will Hoffman tallied the lone goal of the game for Marshwood (1-2), answering the Poland/GNG goal at 14:30 in the first period off a pass from Pat MacGinnus.

Girls’ basketball

Winthrop 54, Telstar 43

WINTHROP – Linsday Gordon had a solid performance with a game-high 25 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks as Winthrop came from behind to post a 54-43 win over Telstar in a girls’ basketball matchup Wednesday.

Winthrop was behind by one point at the half, and up by only two points at the end of the third quarter. The Ramblers (2-2) stepped up their offensive pressure in the fourth quarter to outscore Telstar 22-13 and capture the win. Amanda Garwood contributed 11 points, five assists, and three steals.

Bailey Davis notched 17 points, while Josie Reiss added 12 for the Rebels (2-2).
