I hope it’s not too late to write a “Dear George” letter. I met George Schott’s family when I was at the hospital in Portland, after my wife had a 10-hour surgery for her colon cancer. I think about 20 family members were there.

They were very nice, and supported me and even fed me, too. They treated me like their own, and told me about “Uncle Georgie” (as they call him) and how he started out. They said if anybody can do it, it would be Uncle Georgie, and that he is always thinking of ideas and is very successful.

My idea is we need a place where kids can hang out and enjoy themselves, perhaps with an indoor pool, basketball court, soccer field or baseball diamond. If anybody can come up with it, it’s Mr. Schott.

Please do it for the kids.
