House open

PARIS – The McLaughlin Garden Christmas theme is “Colonial Williamsburg” and the restored parlors and dining room of the house are decorated in Victorian style. The display is available for visiting from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, Dec. 23. The gift shop will close at 5 p.m. Saturday for the Christmas holiday.

Two services

PARIS – There will be two services at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris on Sunday, Dec. 24.

The regular 10 a.m. service will feature Christmas music, featuring the choir, soloists and instrumental combinations. Coffee and doughnuts will follow the service in Good Cheer Hall.

The traditional Christmas Eve service will be held at 6 p.m., led by Marilyn Hammond with readers and music by the choir, soloists and instrumentalists. Forest Perkins will play the pipe organ for all services. All are welcome.

Decorations donated

WOODSTOCK – Curator Larry Billings has donated Christmas decorations to the Woodstock Historical Society that can be used when meetings are held at the town office community room in December.

He has given a large Santa plaque and another depicting a stocking overflowing with gifts.

A red Christmas stocking accompanies them. He also intends to loan a porcelain nativity scene he has every year.

Church services

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Congregational Church Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the church.

The West Paris Baptist Church Christmas Eve service will also be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the church.
