Advent Sunday

FARMINGTON – Henderson Memorial Baptist Church will celebrate the fourth Sunday of advent at the 10:30 a.m. worship service Sunday, Dec. 24, with the lighting of the candle of love. Pastor Susan Crane’s message will focus on God’s love being born in a child. All are welcome.

Church service

FARMINGTON – All are welcome at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church on Christmas Eve for a candlelight service of readings and carols. The service will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. A special offering will be received for the Franklin County Ecumenical Heating Fund. Pastor Susan Crane will tell the story of “Silent Night” before the congregation sings the song and the candles are lit to proclaim the Savior’s birth.

Season services

WILTON – Christmas season church services will be held at the First Congregational Church of Wilton, 386 Main St.

Worship with special music will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. All are welcome. A candlelight service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. There will be special music and a Christmas pageant.

Forum breakfast

WILTON – The Wilton Early Bird Community Forum breakfast will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at the First Congregational Church of Wilton, 386 Main St. Speaker will be David Gustafson, Franklin Journal. The public is invited and admission is free.

House open

PARIS – The McLaughlin Garden Christmas theme is “Colonial Williamsburg” and the restored parlors and dining room of the house are decorated in Victorian style. The display is available for visiting from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday, Dec. 23. The gift shop will close at 5 p.m. Saturday for the Christmas holiday.

WEST PARIS – The West Paris Congregational Church Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the church.

The West Paris Baptist Church Christmas Eve service will also be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24, at the church.

Parenting classes

FARMINGTON – Parent education classes will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. starting Monday, Jan. 22, at the Trinity Methodist Church, Farmington Falls Road. It is an eight-week class, child care is provided and there is a $12 fee.
