AUBURN – Irene J. Morissette, 79, of Auburn died Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.

She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 18, 1927, the daughter of Victor and Angelina Madore Caron. She was educated in Lewiston schools and was married June 21, 1947, to Maurice Morissette. She was a member of the Auburn Catholic Community at Sacred Heart Church, the Golden Age Club, Covenant 50, Horizon 55 and Lewiston Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice, of Auburn; three daughters, Joan Girouard, and husband, Michael, of Auburn, Susan Michaud, and husband, Gary, of Auburn and Laurie Larsen, and husband, Eric, of Cleveland, Ohio; two sons, Roland Morissette, and partner, Ted Ampe, of Auburn and Leo Morissette, and partner, Judy Gaghan, of Durham; five grandchildren, Mark Girouard, Tracie Stevens, Austin and Allison Michaud and Anneliese Larsen; three great-grandchildren, Dawson and Hallie Stevens and Isaac Michaud-Simpson; a brother, Rene Caron, and wife, Mary, of Lewiston; two sisters, Jeannette LaBerge of Lewiston and Lucienne Beaulieu of Sabattus.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Hospice House, especially Trudy Newton and Dr. Roger Austin for their exceptional care.
