WILTON – Jeanne H. Wells, 69, of Wilton died late Wednesday, Dec. 20, in the comfort of her own home, with her family by her side.
She was born April 5, 1937, in Wilton, the daughter of Harland and Beatrice (Hutchinson) Hutchinson. She was a 1954 graduate of Wilton Academy and a 1955 graduate of Husson College. On Dec. 28, 1955, she married Adrian “Butch” Wells in Wilton.
She was employed at Depositor’s Trust Co. in Wilton and later at Foster Vocational Technical Center in Farmington. She also managed the books for the family canning business and had worked at the Wilson Lake Country Club.
She was a founding member of the Calvary Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed volunteering at the hospital, working on craft projects, sewing, flower gardening and watching the birds.
She loved her family and spent as much time with them as she could.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Butch, of Wilton; one son, Adrian “Butch” Wells Jr., and his wife, Cindy, of Chesterville; two daughters, Penny Ross, and her husband, Brian, of Fairfield, Va. and Pam Woodcock, and her husband, Steve, of East Wilton; and seven grandchildren, Shain Woodcock, Scott Woodcock, and his wife, Jessie, Sam Woodcock, Trevor Ross, Andrew Ross, Katlyn Wells and Alexander Wells.
