The United States has one of the highest percentages of criminals serving time in the civilized world. There are many reasons for this. One is the judicial system has not kept up with modern technology. Technological progress in crime detection we see on television is not used on the local level. On a high-profile case, some prosecutors take the most likely candidate and convict them with circumstantial evidence and often times with very little preponderance.

Our judicial system was functional a hundred years ago. It is estimated that 35 to 45 percent of people serving time are innocent. Our prisons are overcrowded, and the judicial system needs to be modernized.
