INDUSTRY – Thomas and Velma Evans of Industry are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Sue Evans of Gorham, to Kipp Avery Powell, son of Gordon and Lee Powell of Clifton Park, N.Y.

Miss Evans is a 1997 graduate of Mount Blue High School and a 2002 graduate of the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She plans to graduate in May from Boston College School of Social Work with a master’s degree in social work. She is employed at Maine Pediatric Specialty Group in Falmouth.

Mr. Powell is a 1993 graduate of Shenendehova Central High School in New York, and a 1997 graduate of the University of Maine at Orono with a bachelor’s degree in natural resources. He is also a 2003 graduate of South Dakota State University with a master’s degree in wildlife and fisheries sciences. He is employed at Inspectorate America in South Portland.

A Sept. 22 wedding is planned.
