NORWAY – Richard and Mary Lou Onafrio of Norway celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently at a gathering at the Bethel Inn and Country Club in Bethel. Party hosts were Sherry Grant, Mike Onafrio and David Onafrio, children of the couple.

Decorations were in an autumn theme with a hydrangea centerpiece and a tiered anniversary cake. Hors d’oeuvres and champagne were served, followed by music and dancing. Sherry Grant gave the toast.

Mr. Onafrio and the former Mary Louise Cullinan were married on Oct. 26, 1956, at the Norway Universalist Church in Norway.

They have three children, Sherry Grant and Michael and David Onafrio. Their grandchildren are Caitlin Grant, Justin Onafrio, Tanesha Onafrio and Nicholas Grant.

Since retiring, they have toured most of the United States and have taken trips to Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. Winters are spent in Florida and summers at their home on Lake Pennessewassee, where they enjoy their family, who all live nearby.
