NEW VINEYARD – Leston W. Perkins, 90, of 327 Barker Road, New Vineyard, formerly of Hampton, N.H., died Saturday, Dec. 23, at his home after a period of failing health.

He was born in Hampton on June 27, 1916, son of the late George L. and Helen Perkins. He was a 1933 graduate of Hampton Academy and of the Coyne Electrical School in 1964. He had resided most of his life in Hampton, moving to his son’s home in Maine five years ago.

He worked as a self-employed electrician in the seacoast area for many years.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at his son’s camp at Ebeemee Lake, Maine.

Mr. Perkins was the husband of Beatrice (Smith) Perkins, who died in 1987.

Family members include one son, James W. Perkins and his wife, Maureen, of New Vineyard; two grandsons, Thomas and is wife, Carolyn, of Turner, and Daniel of Industry; two great-granddaughters, Maeghan and Sarah Perkins; a brother, Carl Perkins of Brookline, Mass.; a sister, Mildred Walker of Somerville, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.
