FARMINGTON – Physician assistant R. Gregory Ellis has joined the medical staff of Franklin Orthopedics and Franklin Memorial Hospital, according to Leslie Hawkins, practice administrator for Franklin Orthopedics. Ellis assumed his new position Dec. 4.

Ellis’ professional interests are in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. Before joining Franklin Orthopedics, he provided medical care in the emergency department at Redington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan. He has also provided urgent treatment and orthopedics on a part-time basis at Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Carrabassett Valley Clinic at Sugarloaf since 1997.

Ellis received his degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Kentucky. Previously, he completed his bachelor’s degree in pre-med from Northern Arizona University, graduating magna cum laude.

Ellis recently purchased a home in Farmington. He has two children attending SAD 9 schools.
