RINDGE,N.H. (AP) – Retired Gen. Tommy Franks is supporting a national petition drive to create a U.S. postage stamp commemorating the Cathedral of the Pines memorial to America’s war dead.

Franks signed the petition and said he is proud to support the troops.

The organization is seeking endorsements from every community in New Hampshire, every state Legislature, as well as all veteran, patriotic and service organizations and every living general in the country.

Nestled beneath tall pines in southwestern New Hampshire, Cathedral of the Pines is an ecumenical place of worship and sanctuary.

and a national memorial to America’s war dead. It offers garden-lined walkways, inspirational landscapes and a view of Mount Monadnock, known as the most climbed mountain in the world.
