FARMINGTON – Nelson J. Buotte, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, at his residence in Farmington with his family by his side. He resided on 474 Industry Road in Farmington and was formerly of Rumford..

He was born in Rumford, on Nov. 17, 1933, a son of Francois and Mary (Peters) Buotte. He attended Rumford schools. He worked for Oxford Paper Co. as a Hyster driver for many years until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of New Life Church of God in Readfield. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping at Chain of Ponds, and he also enjoyed photography.

He was married in Rumford, on Aug. 25, 1990, to Virginia Canwell, who survives, of Farmington.

Other survivors include six daughters, Linda Robinson, and her husband, Ronald, of Auburndale, Fla., Debra Brown, and her husband, Fred, of New Vineyard, Sheri Judkins, and her husband, Rodney, of Farmington, Cindy Sweetser of Rumford, Vikki Gurney, and her husband, Dayl, of Lewiston and Tammy Jolin, and her husband, Leo Jr., of Rumford; a son, John Learned of East Rochester, N.H.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers; and two sisters.
