All this talk about sending more troops to Iraq is a very bad idea. It reminds me of two quotes from the Vietnam era:

George Romney, candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, said: “When I came back from Vietnam, I had just had the greatest brainwashing that anybody can get”

George Aiken, a senator from Vermont, said: “The best policy is to declare victory and go home.”

Just as with the Vietnam debacle, we have been brainwashed and it’s time to declare victory and go home.
