Holiday card contest winners announced

FARMINGTON – Franklin Community Health Network has announced that Annie Wales and Morgan Rodway are the grand-prize winners for this year’s holiday card contest. As grand-prize winners, they each receive a $100 savings bond.

Wales’ design will be the cover of the 2007 Franklin Community Health Network holiday card and Rodway’s message, “Spending time with family is all you need,” will be featured inside. Wales is home-schooled and from New Portland; Rodway is a student at Rangeley Lakes Regional School.

Community Relations Manager Jill Gray said, “We once again had a tremendous response, with hundreds of entries received from area schools.”

Seventeen runner-up winners from nine area schools were also selected. They included Donald Gardner and Mariah Martin from Cascade Brook School; Gabrielle Edwards, Brianna Ellis and Jessie Hutchinson, Mallett School; Makayla Franke, Kingfield Elementary School; Holland Corson, Strong Elementary School; Kylie Umlauf, Rebecca Frederick and Chelsea Pillsbury, Cape Cod Hill School.

Also, Mike Bernard, Western Maine Christian Academy; Valerie Lessard, Rangeley Lakes Regional School; Annette Sherrod and Kaleigh Brann, Academy Hill School; Mallory Toothaker and Eliza Sitz, Stratton Elementary School; and Roland Venter, who is home-schooled.

All winners, their families and school personnel were invited to a celebration and awards ceremony on Dec. 20 at Franklin Memorial Hospital. The Smith Brothers provided entertainment preceding the awards.
