LEWISTON – Lewiston’s Recreation and Parks Department will offer a six-week “kinder basketball” program beginning Saturday, Jan. 6. Children age 4 to 7 will be introduced to the rules and fundamentals of basketball.
Dribbling, shooting and defensive skills will be taught during the program, and the instruction-only clinic will help prepare participants for the next level of the program.
Instruction will continue through Feb. 10, and 4- and 5-year-olds will meet each Saturday from 8 to 8:45 a.m.; 6- and 7-year-olds, 8:45 to 9:30 a.m.
Children may be registered any time before Jan. 6 at the Lewiston Rec Department, 65 Central Ave. The cost per child for Lewiston residents is $25; nonresidents, $35.
