LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Rotary Club will meet at noon Thursday, Jan. 4, to hear a presentation by Cathy Johnson, North Woods Project director of the National Resources Council of Maine. Her topic will be “A Vision for the Moosehead Lake Region,” including Plum Creek’s development proposal.

Also the senior staff attorney for the council, Johnson has been with the agency since 1990. She handles land protection and forestry issues for the council. Johnson attended Yale University, then transferred to College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor where she received her BA in 1974. She received her JD from the University of Maine School of Law in 1983 and was a trial lawyer in Damariscotta before joining the NRCM staff.

The club holds its weekly meetings at the Ramada Inn on Pleasant Street. Anyone wishing to attend to hear the speaker or to learn more about Rotary is welcome. Weekly buffet luncheons are $8 a person. Access the club’s Web site at www.lewistonauburnrotary.org for more information.
