OXFORD – Tony Milligan, special agent, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, will be the featured speaker at the Tuesday, Jan. 9, meeting of the Oxford County Republican Committee at the Avent Christian Church, Route 26.

A social hour will be held at 5:30 p.m. followed by a 6:30 p.m. dinner. The speaker and a business meeting will follow.

Delegates from Oxford County towns will vote on the report of the Nominating Committee, which has proposed a slate of officers for the ensuing two years. Nominations may also be made on the floor prior to the election.

The Dec. 12 meeting of the committee at the Christian Alliance Church in Otisfield featured a presentation by outgoing State Republican Chairman Mark Ellis, who discussed new strategies to be employed for the 2008 election cycle. He stressed the importance of developing stronger town committee structures.

The annual Lincoln Day dinner was announced for the Bethel Inn Conference Center on Saturday, Feb. 24, with Sen. Carol Weston, State Senate Republican leader, as the featured speaker. Maine College Republican Chairman Nate Walton is also expected to address the group.
