AUBURN – Freshman guard Kirsten Prue sank all six of her free throw attempts in the final two minutes as Edward Little held off Mt. Ararat with a 46-35 girls’ basketball win Friday night.

Brittney French poured in 16 points and Kelsey Nicolas added 12 for the Red Eddies (5-3). Prue finished with 11 points.

Jess Stahl led the Eagles (3-6) with 23 points.

Mt. Blue 55, Bangor 42

FARMINGTON – Mt. Blue jumped out to a 33-14 halftime lead and held off a pesky Bangor team in the second half en route to a 55-42 victory in Eastern Class A basketball action Friday night.

Senior Bonnie Silkman paced the Cougars (6-3) with 16 points while Christina Mosher chipped in with 12 points. Amy Hackett paced the Rams (4-4) with 12 points.

Rangeley 47, Greenville 25

RANGELEY – Krista Jamison led Rangeley with nine points, while the Lakers limited Greenville to a combined five points in the second and third quarters of a 47-25 Western Class D girls’ basketball triumph.

Jamison and Hayley White each made four steals to spark the defense for Rangeley (4-2). Angela White added six points and nine rebounds. Alisha Gilbert topped Greenville (4-3) with six points.

Buckfield 47, Valley 18

BUCKFIELD – Buckfield jolted out to a 26-4 halftime lead and never looked back as it downed Valley 47-18 in Western Class D girls’ basketball action.

Alyssa Henderson and Lindsey Henderson each paced Buckfield with nine points apiece. Kasey Farrington hauled down 11 rebounds for the Bucks (3-2). Jessica Brown and Alyssa Vitalone combined for 15 points for the Cavaliers (1-5).

Gardiner 51, Lewiston 22

GARDINER – Gardiner held Lewiston to nine points in the first half of a 51-22 KVAC rout of Lewiston.

Katie Weymouth canned three 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 15 points for the Tigers (4-4). Britney Salley added 10 points.

Amy Daniels bolstered the Blue Devils (0-9) with seven points.

Lake Region 49, York 23

NAPLES – Christina Ricci scored 13 points and four different Lake Region players connected from 3-point range in a 49-23 romp over York.

Emily Rowbotham added six points and eight rebounds for the Lakers (6-1), who stifled the Wildcats (3-5) to four points in the second period en route to a 25-11 halftime lead.
