Jesus Party children honor President Ford

LEWISTON – The Jesus Party’s patriotic mentor, Jerry DerBoghosian, assisted inner-city children in paying their respects recently to Gerald Ford, 38th president of the United States.

A prayer was offered for his family and the nation. Children also recited the “Pledge of Allegiance,” sang, “God Bless America,” followed by a moment of silence and the ringing of the cymbals 38 times in recognition of Ford’s presidency.

A door prize of a replica antiqued parchment of all U.S. presidents from George Washington to George W. Bush was given to one child in attendance.
