RUMFORD – The term of Rumford Senior Citizens President Hattie Freeman will be up in March. She does not plan to run for president again, and there are other board positions that will be open.

Volunteers are needed to run for the positions and to help with programs that the group offers. If the group does not receive the help they need, the Rumford Senior Citizens may cease to exist. Present leaders are asking other seniors to step forward to keep the group going.

Trips coming up include the Bangor Slots on Wednesday, Jan. 31, for $20. There are still 24 seats available. There are also seats for a trip to the theater in Lewiston-Auburn for a comedy, “The Settlers.” Cost is $30. A trip on March 7 to Beacon Resort for a St. Pat’s celebration for $48 is planned, as well as Indian Head and a sugar trip in April. In May there will be a trip to Bangor for a show, “Ruby Sunrise.” Prices for the last trips will be posted later.

A pasta dinner will be presented by the Rumford Seniors on Wednesday, Jan. 24, for $4, followed by a presentation by Jeff Watts on hip and knee replacement.
