What is it! District III is an organization for band and chorus members in the third district of Maine. You audition with a special piece you have practiced forever. You also have to Sing or play 3 scales, and you have to do a sight-reading piece that you’ve never seen before. It’s quite nerve-racking.

My name is Theresa Therriault and I’ve participated in District III for two years now. We auditioned on Nov. 9 in Woolwich. Last year, I made it into the Junior High Honors band! There were 109 kids in the band and there were around 100 in the chorus! We played/sang at Mt. Ararat in Topsham. It was awesome, I really enjoyed doing District III because I love playing my flute and it’s a lot of fun to play with the other students who enjoy playing as much as I do. If you’ve never done District III before, you should, because if you make it in, you’ll be able to tell that it was definitely worth auditioning for!
