Lodge to meet

AUBURN – Ashlar Lodge 105, AF and AM, will hold its annual communication on Monday, Jan. 15, at the Auburn Masonic Temple, 1021 Turner St. The meeting will start at 7:30 p.m., with refreshments to follow. All Masons are welcome. For more information, contact Steve Peterson at 777-1728.

Wildey night

AUBURN – Liberty Rebekah Lodge 94 will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15, at the meeting room of the Grand Lodge, IOOF, 80 Caron Lane. Ice cream and cake will be served to celebrating the birthday of Thomas Wildey, who was born in London, England, on Jan. 15, 1782.

Wildey was the founder of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows in North America in 1819, dedicating the order to achieve philanthropic goals. Odd Fellows and Rebekahs worldwide have continued to work to achieve the goals through the years.

During the business meeting at 7 p.m. a collection will be taken to benefit the Ellen F. Washburn Nurses Training Award Program. The program has assisted nursing students in paying the cost of tuition since its inception in 1957.

Those enrolled in accredited RN courses in the state are eligible to apply for the limited number of awards. For more information, call Esther Tucker at 998-5359.

Masonic meeting

AUBURN – The annual meeting of the Masonic Holding Corp., which was to be held on Jan. 15, is now scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 19. The notice pertains to the members of Tyrian Lodge, St. Andrews Chapter and Dwinal Chapter, OES.

Seniors to meet

AUBURN – The First Auburn Seniors Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Hasty Community Center. Tickets will be on sale for the Valentine lunch on Wednesday, Feb. 21, for $4.

Attorney Kathleen Kienitz will speak on long-term care. Members are reminded to bring their utensils for the spaghetti lunch. Bingo will be played after lunch. Brunch will be held Thursday, Jan. 28, weather permitting.

The club met on Jan. 3 with President Caroline Chapman presiding. There were 57 present. Attendance winners were Irene Fraser and Joan Dechene; pot of gold, Millie Brainerd , Helen McGuire and Barbara Hinkley. After a bag lunch, bingo was played.
