Society speaker
RUMFORD – The Rumford Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, in the Municipal Building, Congress Street. The speaker will be Len Greaney, who will tell of his experiences in developing the Memorial to Veterans Buried in Distant Places. The site chosen overlooks the Androscoggin River at the head of Congress Street and was dedicated on Veterans Day in 2006.
Club to meet
MEXICO – The Mexico Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, downstairs at the Mexico Town Hall. All are welcome. The Think Snow Dance will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Eagles. Raffle tickets and tickets for the dance are on sale now by contacting Nick Brown at 364-8665 or at the meeting and at the door. All are welcome.

RUMFORD – The women of Stephens High School Class of 1948 will meet at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the River Valley Grill. Call Colleen at 364-3553 if attending.

RUMFORD – The Alzheimer Support Group will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 85 Lincoln Ave. For more information, call Donna Landry at 364-4561.
Club supper
RUMFORD – The Snowshoe Club baked bean supper and 50/50 drawing will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, not Jan. 18 as previously advertised. Cost is adults, $6; children 12 and younger, $3.
1945 class to meet
MEXICO – The Stephens High School Class of 1945 will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at Far East. Those who plan to attend are asked to call Connie at 364-8485 or Anita at 364-4749.
Lean On Me group
RUMFORD – Lean On Me, a support group for cancer patients and their families, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 16, in the Rumford Hospital library.
This newly organized support group is designed to help individuals ranging from newly diagnosed to those coping with the disease. For more information, contact Diane Mitchell at 364-8358 or dianemitchell02@yahoo.com.
