LEWISTON – Jean Armstrong, storyteller, communication specialist and workshop facilitator, will facilitate a workshop, “Sharing Your Stories,” on Thursday, Feb. 8, for Lewiston Adult Education.

She has presented throughout the northeast as part of the Maine Arts Commission and National Foundation for the Arts New England Touring Roster. Armstrong works with children and adults and shares her love of stories with many through the Maine Organization of Storytelling Enthusiasts (MOOSE) of which she is a founding member.

Her tales span a variety of topics from mythology, folktales and local color to her grown-up stories of travel, aging and dating.

The one-night workshop will allow participants to develop their own stories and storytelling techniques.

“Sharing personal history, family traditions and community lore is vital as people develop a sense of self,” said Eva Giles, community education coordinator for Lewiston Adult Ed. “We are pleased that Jean will be able to share her talents and expertise with our community members.”

For more information about the workshop or to register, see Lewiston Adult Education’s winter/spring brochure or the Web site at www.lewistonadulted.org.
