ETNA (AP) – Authorities have recovered what was believed to be the body of a missing woman whose farmhouse was destroyed Friday by an early morning fire. The two-story dwelling on the Old County Road was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived shortly after 1 a.m., the state fire marshal’s office said. A team of fire marshal investigators, aided by excavating equipment, dug through the fire rubble and found the body around 2 p.m., according to Stephen McCausland of the Public Safety Department.

The remains were being transported to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and positive identification, he said.
