FARMINGTON – A Sanford man pleaded not guilty to charges of gross sexual assault Friday at his arraignment in Franklin County Superior Court.
Ian Forbes Newell, 21, of Sanford was arrested in late October on a warrant, weeks after a 19 year-old woman he had once been in a relationship with reported he sexually assaulted her in Farmington, Lt. Jack Peck said. Newell pleaded not guilty Friday to three counts of gross sexual assault, one count of unlawful sexual contact and one count of assault.
