LEWISTON – Joanne Seifert, RN C CHPN, director of education for Beacon Hospice Inc., will be the speaker at the annual meeting of the Central Maine General Hospital-Central Maine Medical Center School of Nursing Alumni Association at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Marshwood Center for Health Care and Rehabilitation, Roger Street.

Seifert will provide an overview of the Deep Harbors program, developed by Beacon Hospice to address the needs of end-stage patients with dementia and their families. The focus of the Deep Harbors program is to provide quality of life for patients and education and support for family members and caregivers.

The session is open to the public. It is free and refreshments will be served. For more information about the program, contact Ginny Starbird at Marshwood, 784-0108.

A business meeting for members of the association will follow the program. Election of officers for 2007 will take place as well as a vote on revisions of the bylaws of the association. For information on the meeting, call 783-4322.
