Women’s Network to host two speakers

PARIS – The Western Maine Chapter, Maine Women’s Network, will support women’s advocacy at the Tuesday, Jan. 23, event at the Rape Education and Crisis Hotline facility, 5 East Main St. (side entrance), South Paris.

Featured speakers will include Debbie Dembski, executive director of the Rape Education and Crisis Hotline, and Kelly Glidden, educator, Abused Women’s Advocacy Project.

Those attending will learn how they can impact women’s advocacy issues and how to handle a friend or co-worker who confides that they have experienced a sexual assault or are involved with domestic violence. Available resources will be explained.

Dembski has served in the field of social services for 20 years to help build awareness for and combat the struggles of women, men and children affected by violence, abuse and assault.

Glidden models respect, nonviolence, safety and equality while providing community education resources to support adult and child victims of domestic violence.
