Paying it forward

LEWISTON – New Life Community Center teens, in cooperation with the Pay It Forward Foundation, will show a movie, “Pay It Forward,” at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at New Life Community Center, 134 College St.

The foundation was established in September 2000 by author Catherine Ryan Hyde to educate and inspire students to realize they can change the world.

The premise of the movie is one that any person can implement in his or her life, changes that can affect their communities. It begins by doing a favor for another without expectation of being paid back. One would request that the recipient of the favor would return the kindness, ideally for three other people.

The teens meet weekly at 6:30 p.m. at center. For more information, call 782-3939.
