LEWISTON – Susan D. Beane has been hired by Museum L-A, 35 Canal St., as archive assistant to help manage and oversee collections salvaged from the seven mills of Lewiston.

Beane has a master of library science degree and special collections experience. She lives in Oakland with her husband.

Prior to joining Museum L-A, Beane was a librarian at Thomas College in Waterville and worked for the Indiana School of Dentistry library in Indianapolis. She also worked at the Lewiston Sun Journal for 16 years.

Museum L-A also announces that Alexandra MacMillan of St. George is doing a short history internship. She is a freshman at Wheaton College, Norton, Mass., majoring in art history.
