Birding trip
GEORGETOWN – Merrymeeting Audubon will sponsor a field trip, “Birding: Reid State Park,” from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 3.
Participants will search for species of coastal birds, including grebes, loons and scoters that use the area.
Those going should meet at Griffith Head parking lot, Reid State Park, at 9 a.m., bring snacks/lunch and dress warmly. For additional information, contact trip coordinators Chuck Huntington, 725-5657, or John Howland, 725-6734.
Church supper
NEW SHARON – The New Sharon United Methodist Church will hold a baked bean and casserole supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, in the church annex.
The menu will also include chop suey, hot rolls, coleslaw, molded salads and homemade pies. The monthly supper is being sponsored by the Woman’s Society of the church and proceeds will be used for current expenses.
