As the town of Turner has just fired their town manager, I advise the Lewiston City Council to do the same with City Administrator Jim Bennett.

He suffers from an “edifice complex.” How many mills, parking lots, Colisees and assorted other buildings does this city need to own?

For the city to build new buildings on Lisbon Street to replace the buildings burned down is pure idiocy. Evidently, Lewiston now plans to become a landlord, and as with the Colisee, it will be another economic catastrophe.

Lewiston needs to offer tax incentives to companies to get them to build the new buildings on Lisbon Street, and ultimately have them on the tax rolls.
